The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour begins the second half of the championship points schedule at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, with the Eastern Propane & Oil 100. On Friday, the tour kicks off the racing weekend as select teams will compete in the only non-points, 35-lap All Star Shootout.
The New England Short Track Showdown at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is an event that is designed to turn short track racers from the region into stars. While competing on the biggest racing stage of New England will do just that, the most popular star of the race weekend might very well be a racer who won’t be turning a single competitive lap this year.
This is the only 125-lap event of our four NWMT events, this one proved to be exciting with pit strategy playing a big part. TSMP’s five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions will all be in competition. This is the first event of the short track season in New England. This will be the 45th running of this great season-opening tradition. It will be headlined by the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race. The Fan Appreciation Party, which has become a highly-anticipated event will be back for its sixth consecutive season. More details and schedule to be announced. Over the past five seasons, the Friday Test & Tune has become customary at the Icebreaker. This year will be no different, as the four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Divisions, along with the other Icebreaker divisions are all welcome to get some additional practice before the event formally begins on Saturday.NO NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour or Pro All Star Series race cars allowed to participate in the test.
